EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Over the three days, the LHCC team conducted an intensive mobilisation in Bukiroro Village. Due to the massive scale of Bukiroro, the Board made a strategic decision to divide the village into four distinct family clusters. This allowed us to maintain small-group integrity, ensuring every participant received personalised training. We are pleased to report that the Village Local Leaders were instrumental in this success, providing the logistical support needed to organise the families.
Expert-Led Skills Education: We prioritiSed high-level training to ensure the families are equipped for the current phase.
The Team: Our lead expert, Lilian, conducted hands-on training sessions.
Government Collaboration: We successfully invited Mr. Erick Omeda, the Regional Environment Officer, to join us. Having a government official provide technical education & formal written guidance adds significant "official weight" to our AgroEcology program.
Outcome: Families were taught the science of soil health & regenerative techniques, with Mr. Omeda providing the environmental framework required for long-term success.
Seedling Plantation & Nursery Distinguishing: We have successfully established the nursery phase for our future growth.
Strategic Planting: We focused on distinguishing seedling varieties to ensure families can manage different crop types effectively.
Sustainability: These plantations are the "engine" for our food security targets. The seedlings are healthy & have been laid out according to the expert-led spacing and soil requirements.
Innovative Water Solutions (The "Bukiroro Reservoir”): Water scarcity remains our greatest challenge. While a permanent concrete tank for every village is not yet financially feasible , we utilized “Local Innovation" to overcome this barrier.
Temporary Storage: We engineered a temporary water storage system using heavy-duty liners & local trenching.
Efficiency: This allows us to store enough water to sustain all current plantation activities.
WHAT WE DO & WHY
⁜ LHCC is increasing the life standard for poor families by ensuring they gain enhanced agricultural knowledge, achieve improved food security & realised increased family income through the sale of surplus produce.
⁜ Higher financial stability directly translates into greater educational opportunities for children & better overall family stability which promotes a safer, more cohesive community with a significant reduction in crime rates.
⁜ Households now enjoy a more reliable & varied food supply significantly reducing hunger & malnutrition.
⁜ The resulting increase in agricultural productivity has not only secured food but also provided many families with a stable income from selling surplus produce.
⁜ The project's focus on sustainable practices is actively contributing to environmental protection, safeguarding local ecosystems & preserving natural resources for the next generation.
⁜ These tangible outcomes - from improved food security & increased family income to a safer community environment - demonstrate the immense potential of continued investment.

The successful groundwork of Phase TWO has already laid a strong foundation, creating visible & life-changing improvements for the families involved. The project's holistic approach ensures that benefits are realized across multiple dimensions: households now enjoy a more reliable & varied food supply, significantly reducing hunger & malnutrition. The resulting increase in agricultural productivity has not only secured food but also provided many families with a stable income from selling surplus produce. Furthermore, the project's focus on sustainable practices is actively contributing to environmental protection, safeguarding local ecosystems & preserving natural resources for the next generation.
Our farms of course also serve for the Angel’s Home Orphanage. These tangible outcomes—from improved food security & increased family income to a safer community environment due to the reduction in crime rates—demonstrate the immense potential of continued investment.Your support now will directly address the remaining needs to fully stabilise & sustain these gains, ensuring the project endures as a lasting force for good.
